Diffusion

9 September – 18 October
At the Cornerhouse Manchester

26 September – 31 December
At the light boxes Manchester Piccadilly train station.

Diffusion is a new series of drawings which map environmental data about Manchester upon the biological structures of the internal body. The images make connections between ourselves and the cities we create; between the internal and the external. I collaborated with staff at the Human Geography department, MMU during the research stage of the project and worked with geographical information systems and environmental datasets.

Diffusion is supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England and is part of the Asia Triennial Manchester 2011 fringe programme.

A specially animated reworking of one of the pieces of Diffusion will be projected as part of Bury Light Night on October 14th.
